Rattles and Something Else
RICCARDO BARUZZI
May, 6 – July 26, 2024
A central element of the exhibition “Rattles and Something Else” is a reflection on the medium and the discipline: Baruzzi is undisciplined by choice.
The investigation carried out by the artist proposes a general subversion of the point of view: the frontal enjoyment of a work, the use of canonical positions in its execution, the choice of solemn subjects – which in some way have an evident centrality within a cultural context – are here distorted and overturned through a path immersed in the sound generated by the wind passing through the plants.
The works on display include a series of paintings made in 2020, a new group of sculptures born in dialogue with the space and a seat conceived as a “relational object” and inserted inside the IFT spaces.
