Riccardo Baruzzi
Born in Lugo in 1976, Riccardo Baruzzi lives and works in Bologna. His research focuses on the physical and poetic principles of drawing and sound, with performative aspects that involve the participation of art students, collectors, and gallery owners, who are tasked with interacting with the display of painting or with the moment of its creation. In 2022, he won the Osvaldo Licini painting award. Since 2023, he has been a lecturer in Techniques and Technologies for Visual Arts at the Accademia Carrara di Belle Arti in Bergamo.
Main exhibitions / selection: Among his most recent exhibitions are "Pittura Italiana Oggi," Triennale di Milano, 2024; "My Valley," Galerie Mark Müller, Zurich, 2023; and "Resonance," a duo show with Pieter Vermeersch, curated by Lilou Vidal and Luca Cerizza, P420, Bologna, 2021. His work has been exhibited in various museum venues and private galleries, including the Museo di Villa Croce, Genoa; MAXXI in Rome; MACTE, Termoli; as well as ARCADE gallery, London, and Galerie Jaqueline Martins, São Paulo.
